Let’s recite the Qur’an with Tajweed Level 3 & 4

This course entails the advanced rules of Tajweed and it is for students who have completed Tajweed Level 2 or equivalent. This course continues on from Level 2 and focuses on developing students’ ability to recite a greater number of Surahs with Tajweed, as well as developing greater fluency in reading the Quranic text while maintaining all the rules of Tajweed. A few new rules will be introduced completing all the required knowledge of the theory of Tajweed. This course aims to facilitate students’ learning and help them apply the already learned rules of Tajweed.

Let’s Recite the Qur’an Level 1 & 2

In this course, students will learn the rules of recitation and improve their reading fluency. Students will continue to work on their pronunciation of the Arabic alphabet, especially those tricky letters that are unique to Arabic. Students will also revise basic Tajweed rules such as the rules of Noon sakin and Tanween, Meem sakin and Laam sakin, rules of Madd and rules of Hamza etc. Once students fully understand the basic Tajweed rules, they will be taught to implement it in their recitation.

Intensive Qur’an with Tajweed Level 5 & 6

This comprehensive course is for students who already possess the basic knowledge of Tajweed and want to broaden it and beautify their recitation. Students will learn how to make their recitation beautiful and gain control over their breath while they recite the Qur’an. They will learn to recite fluently while applying the rules of Tajweed to a high standard. They will be expected to apply their knowledge of the rules of Tajweed (theory and practical) regarding the following rules of Tajweed; Makharij, Sifat, all the Mudud, Nun sakin and Tanwin rules, Mim Sakin rules and Waqf and ibtida (stopping and starting). Students will continue to improve their recitation while implementing the Tajweed rules introduced in all the previous levels. They must ensure that they are applying the rules by pronouncing every single letter correctly. The teachers also expect students to easily recognise the Tajweed rules when reciting various ayahs of the Qur’an.

Advanced Qur’an Level 7

This course is for mastering and perfecting the recitation of the Qur’an while applying all the Tajweed rules learnt in the previous levels. This course continues from the previous levels and focuses on developing students’ recitation further by consolidating and applying all the rules of Tajweed. The aim is to recite and complete certain chapters of the Qur’an in order to prepare students for the Ijazah course. Students will be encouraged to practise and revise Surahs for homework to increase their fluency while maintaining all the rules of Tajweed. All students will have the opportunity to practise and recite individually in every session. Students will also be assigned with the task to prepare a presentation on the summary of the theory of Tajweed as this will help them revise and apply the rules in their recitation. Please note, the course is designed to be intensive and therefore, students must be committed. The course will take up a lot of time and will require serious dedication from students.

Qur’an with Ijazah (Graduate Level)

This course is for advanced Qur’an students as they will be expected to recite the whole Qur’an to a qualified Shaykh(a) who is qualified to give Ijazah. An Ijazah is a certificate used primarily to indicate that one has been authorised by a higher authority to transmit a certain subject or text of Islamic knowledge. It includes a chain (sanad) to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This course is for those wanting to get their Ijaazah in recitation. Upon completion, students attain Ijazah (writtern and verbal certification once they have completed the course). Al Rushd Madrasah takes this course very seriously and therefore, we do not give an Ijazah to just anyone.

Students must put in time, effort and dedication. Once the Shaykh(a) is satisfied with the student’s recitation, they will qualify for the Ijazah. Please note, the course can take time, so be prepared. It is possible for some students to get their Ijazah after their first recitation, but others may need to recite the entire Qur’an multiple times before qualifying. If the teacher is not satisfied with your recitation, then you may have to re-do the course until the teacher is satisfied with your recitation. It is also up to the teacher to award the students with sanad. The completion of this course is highly dependent on effort and dedication and can usually take 1 – 3 years.
