Madrasah Curriculum & Learning Structure
Qur'an
Qur’an Studies in our Madrasah focuses on the comprehensive understanding and recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Students are taught the correct pronunciation and intonation (Tajweed) to ensure their recitation meets the standards set by traditional Islamic scholars. Emphasis is placed on memorization (Hifz) for those who wish to commit the Qur’an to memory, along with translation and Tafseer to help students understand the meanings and contexts of the verses, promoting a deeper connection and application in their daily lives.
Tajweed
Tajweed is the art of reciting the Qur’an with proper pronunciation and intonation. In our Madrasah, students learn the rules of Tajweed to ensure their recitation is accurate and melodious. The curriculum covers the articulation points (Makharij) of the Arabic letters, the characteristics of the letters (Sifaat), and the various rules for elongation (Madd), pauses (Waqf), and assimilation (Idgham). Through rigorous practice and guided recitation, students develop the skills to recite the Qur’an beautifully and correctly.
Arabic Language
Arabic Language courses in our Madrasah aim to equip students with the linguistic skills necessary to understand the Qur’an and classical Islamic texts. The curriculum includes reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, starting from the basics of the Arabic alphabet and grammar to more advanced studies of Sarf. By mastering Arabic, students can access a wealth of Islamic knowledge and engage with the Qur’an in its original language.
Islamic Studies
Islamic Studies encompasses a wide range of subjects aimed at providing students with a thorough understanding of Islam’s teachings and practices. The curriculum covers Aqeedah (creed), Fiqh (jurisprudence), Seerah (biography of the Prophet Muhammad), Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet), and Islamic history. Students learn about the pillars of Islam and Iman, the moral and ethical guidelines of Islam, and the application of Islamic principles in contemporary life. This holistic approach ensures students are well-rounded in their knowledge and practice of Islam.
Duas and Surahs Memorisation
Du’as and Surah Memorisation classes focus on teaching students essential supplications (du’as) and short chapters (surahs) from the Qur’an. Students learn the words, meanings, and occasions for reciting these du’as, which are integral to daily prayers and various aspects of a Muslim’s life. Memorizing these surahs and du’as helps students in their personal worship and spiritual growth, reinforcing their connection to Allah through regular recitation and reflection.
Tarbiyyah and Moral Studies
Tarbiyyah & Moral Studies in our Madrasah aim to cultivate good character and ethical behavior in students, based on Islamic values. The curriculum includes lessons on honesty, respect, responsibility, compassion, and other virtues that are essential for personal development and community harmony. Through stories of the Prophets, examples from the life of the Prophet Muhammad, and practical exercises, students learn how to embody these values in their daily lives. This holistic approach ensures that students not only gain knowledge but also develop into morally upright individuals who contribute positively to society.
